The Kadapa police have busted a major cricket betting racket on Wednesday and arrested six persons. The betting was reportedly run through a website, while the operatives used mule accounts to transfer the money.
According to police, Peddamalla Jagan filed a complaint with the Proddatur police, alleging that members of a Bengaluru-based cricket betting gang attacked him for refusing to cooperate in opening current accounts at local banks that would be used as mule accounts.
He told the police that he refused to cooperate after his accounts, which were previously used as mule accounts, were frozen by the authorities. The attackers also decamped with his ATM card, he alleged.
